God has a plan

In both the Old and New testaments we see that God has a plan and purpose for our life regardless of our circumstances.
Most of us would have read the following scriptures, Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future". Also in Ephesians 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we could walk in them."
I want to draw your attention to just one point about these verses. Both of these statements are made in the context of adverse circumstances.
In the former, the context is that the Lord has allowed the consequences of Judah's rebellion and idolatry to play out. They have been conquered by the Babylonians and have been exiled to Babylon for 70 years. The plans for Gods’ people are not revealed at the end of that time; rather God is promising them beforehand. Yes, there are consequences for your actions but He still had a plan for them as a nation.
You see God doesn't make a plan when we get it right. He always has a plan for us. The same goes for the passage in Ephesians. The beginning of that chapter has us "dead in our transgressions and sin", but even in this position, God has a plan of good works for us to do when we finally respond to His drawing.
What does this mean for us? It means God has a plan and purpose for your life regardless of your position or condition. Whether we fulfill Gods’ plan partially of fully is entirely dependent upon our response in faith and obedience.
