Who can go on mission?
APM is open to Christians of all denominations between the ages of 15 - 80 who are fit and in good health. You will be working long hours in hot and humid conditions which will test you spiritually, emotionally and physically. We therefore require the highest degree of Christian commitment and dedication to training from all selected team members. Team members between the ages of 15-18 will need parental permission to travel with the team on mission. Prospective team members must meet all the application criteria and be endorsed by APM leadership before their acceptance on mission.

Is the Philippines safe?
Any travel, especially overseas, involves a degree of risk especially with the upsurge in terrorism around the world. God doesn't want us to live in fear, but he also wants us to be wise and use common sense. We have never had any trouble (apart from a few tummy bugs) in the life of APM. However, we still need to be vigilant. We therefore want to make you familiar with the team security that has always been in place on our missions. - Firstly, we always work with the nationals on the ground in the city we are visiting. Local knowledge is the best knowledge and we are always guided by their decisions. - We always, especially with large teams and inexperienced members, choose a safe city. Our missions are conducted in the most politically stable and trouble-free cities in the Philippines. We do not go into Muslim areas. - APM has experienced team leaders who have a wealth of travel and crusade experience from 5-40 crusades each over the last 15 years.

How much does it cost to go on team?
The total cost for the crusade is A$2,850. This covers flights, taxes, accomodation, food, transfers and all crusade costs. An additional A$200 is recommended per person for any other incidentals during the misson (eg buying a drink while out in the city). Additional money will be required if you want to buy gifts for your family and friends.

What will the accomodation be like? Are we billeted out with local chuches?
APM likes to look after its Team Members. You will stay at a good quality hotel in a twin share room with ensuite and air-conditioning. The hotel will have a restaurant and conference meeting rooms. Some even have swimming pools. There is no billeting on APM missions.

What is the food like?
As food is important to our team, we adapt the Team food menu so that the food is more acceptable to our Australian tastes. (There are still many opportunities to sample the local food if you desire).

Which airline will the APM team fly? How long is the flight?
We will fly either QANTAS or Philippine Airlines on our International flight. Depending on our Crusade City, there will also be additional domestic flights. The international flight takes approximately 7 hours.

There are many mission trips available to me, why should I come on an APM mission?
There are two main differences between APM and other Mission models.
(1) APM focusses on preaching the gospel and praying for the sick. This is different from other mission organisations who focus on assistance-type ministries to the local church.
(2) Every team member is trained, encouraged and given every opportunity to minister personally - rather than allowing just the team leaders or experienced members to do it all.

I am a Minister and one of my congregation wants to come on team. Should I be worried?
We encourage Ministers to communicate with us if they have any concerns. We will not accept a team member without your consent. APM is a well respected and known Mission organisation in the southern Philippines.

What church do you work with in the Philippines?
In every city where APM holds a crusade, we come with the invitation from the local Ministers' Faternal which encompasses all major protestant denominations from evangelical to pentecostal. We therefore work with many churches helping them to establish new projects in their local areas.

Do you have any problems with so many different denominations on team?
Even though there may be some minor doctrinal differences between the different denominations on team, we have never found this to be a problem as our main focus at APM is preaching the gospel.
All other questions will be covered at our information evening or training sessions. You could also email us any questions - info@apmteam.org
