About Australian Philippine Missions
Since 1989, both Roy and Gae Barrett have made over 30 trips and visited dozens of cities in the
Philippines
on various short term mission teams. In this time, they have trained and equipped over 300 Australians for short term mission work as well as conducting healing seminars for hundreds more local pastors and church workers. To date, over 25,000 people have come to the Lord and been birthed into churches through the ministry of APM. Countless others have been healed and released by the power of Jesus Christ.
APM uses a successful evangelism strategy that has been developed to include more church involvement in assimilating new believers into the church. It also changed the focus of mission away from large-crowd crusade type evangelism to smaller meetings with multiple 1:1 and house visitation follow up. Lastly, it recognises the need for greater impartation and equipping of Filipino pastors and leaders. Over the past twelve years, the methods introduced by APM have been highly successful in increasing discipleship of new converts and overall church growth. These methods are now being used by other missionary teams from Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Ireland.
What's Involved if I come on team?
Australian Philippine Mission operates as a team ministry. This means that every team member has the opportunity to preach, testify and pray for the sick. You will be working long hours in hot and humid conditions which will test you spiritually, emotionally and physically. We therefore require the highest degree of Christian commitment and dedication to training from all selected team members. You will also have a lot of fun and build great friendships with the combined Filipino and Australian team.
Prospective team members must meet all the application criteria and be endorsed by APM leadership before their acceptance on mission. Training will involve in-depth training sessions which are mandatory for all members.
Recent APM crusades include:
1995 - Valencia - 30 team members
1996 - Butuan - 44 team members
1997 - Butuan - 56 team members
1998 - Dumaguete City - 58 team members

We believe in:
- The divine inspiration and authority of the Bible.
- The one and living God eternally existent in three persons in unity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The inherent sinfulness of man through the fall, the necessity of repentance, and the regeneration by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. The eternal separation from God for the unrepentant.
- The virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension and abiding intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Justification and sanctification of the believer at the throne of God through faith in the finished work of Christ.
- The Sacraments of Baptism in water by immersion and of the Lords Supper.
- The security of the believer as they abide in Christ.
- The Baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers and the availability and operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit to every member as He wills.
- Church government and leadership by Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.
- The personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The privilege and responsibility of financially giving to the Lord.
- Recognition of the Body of Christ as made up of all born again, on-going believers, regardless of denomination.
- The priesthood of all believers and in the exercise of their ministry for the good of the body.
- The sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling power the believer is enabled to live a holy and victorious life.
